How to work Shay's new pieces into your jewelry collection

Buyer's Edit

05·05·2024

Shay jewellery is known for its jumbo chain-link designs, its gem-encrusted everything, and its stackable styles for which only the sky's the limit. Extravagant, yes, but also refined, the brand’s offerings have a multigenerational appeal — a lust-worthy aesthetic made possible by the partnership of Ladan and Tania Shayan, the mother-daughter duo behind the business. Based in LA, the pair lathers their pieces with a Southern California cool (along with a “dusting of diamond gemstones”) that always makes a statement. And while they’ve been dazzling clients with the use of shape and colour to reimagine the classics since 2002, their latest collection, which just launched on Aubade, ushers in a new era for Shay.

The clean, sharp lines of the brand’s deco-inspired collection is a slight departure from its signature glitz, leaning further into a vintage feel. This exciting direction brings with it an array of designs that catch the eye not because of the bold hues and mixed materials you’re likely familiar with from previous collections, but because of the striking weight of each piece — the heaviest Aubade carries from the brand.

The new collection is instantly a Shay icon. With chains and links being so intrinsic to the brand’s DNA, the deco chains are the perfect evolution of the brand’s offering.

Harriet’s favorite piece is the versatile Diamond Link Bracelet which features a pave chain that is stunning in its simplicity. She expects clients will gravitate towards the Link Bracelet in 18k gold or the diamond pave iteration of the same style that can be worn alone or layered up. If you already have Shay bracelets in your jewellery box, you can count on being able to stack those pieces with these deco designs. The geometric curves are a fresh take on the heavy chain trend, capturing the balance of contemporary allure and timeless design that is consistent across the entire collection. Other highlights include fringed huggies, elongated link earrings in 18k solid gold or pave diamonds, marquise rings with vine-like bands, and chain-link studs with pops of color in the form of sapphires and emeralds.

When it comes to styling the heavier chain-link pieces, Harriet encourages clients to integrate them into all kinds of attire, from everyday outfits to occasionwear. The key: your  jewelry should take center stage.

Let it be the focal point of your outfit. Whether it’s with jeans and t-shirt or an evening dress.
