Designer Interview

10·02·2026

How do your Brazilian roots and New York sensibility combine in your jewelry?

My Brazilian heritage shapes my work’s color, movement, and names of my collections. NYC aligns with my passionate pursuit of perfection and love of details. Combining these aspects leads to work that is refined, but has a good dose of playfulness.

Tell me how you came up with the idea of the Kaleidoscope Shaker.

Working as a jeweler, I was always surrounded with beautiful, free-moving stones in lucite boxes. Moving these boxes back and forth, between my desk and safe, gave me a stroke of inspiration. The rest is history! After many iterations, I am still finding ways to explore design around the idea of the Kaleidoscope Shaker.

Your jewels are crafted in New York. How important to you is local sourcing of materials and labor?

NYC gives me the best access to materials and exceptional craftspeople. Having every shaker hand-filled in my studio allows me to maintain and oversee the integrity of my work, which is why every piece carries my hand engraved signature.

Which gemstones are you most drawn to, and why?

It’s between the classic diamonds, and the lovely blue color of Brazilian Paraiba tourmalines.

Who - real or imagined - would you like to see wearing your jewelry?

Charlize Theron, for her beauty and humanitarian spirit. I admire her.
