After a career in textile design, designer Zeynep Mursaloğlu Şekeralp was inspired to make gold jewelry in 2012, after noticing the marks of age on a 60 year-old watch belonging to her father. She keeps proportion, balance and texture front of mind in her creative process, drawing on memories as diverse as Anatolian Seljuk architecture, and pebbles and shells gathered on a Southern Turkish beach. Uniting them all is a sense of the centuries of civilization of her homeland, distilled into pieces intended to be worn daily.
