Launched by Aubade in March 2022, Ascher is named for Shouq's favorite, square diamond cut. In her first collection, a focus on clean lines and corners worked in black rhodium-plated 18 karat gold produced architectural forms accented with pristine white diamond pave. More recently, she has explored yellow gold, still with the same, clean, geometric lines to create bold jewelry designed to empower quietly confident women.

Kuwaiti designer Shouq Al-Fulaij creates striking combinations of precious metals and gemstones to radiant effect, in a celebration of the elegance found in geometric angles and strong lines.

After several years working in fashion magazines, she became interested in jewelry whilst in Guatemala working with a fair-trade non-profit, so when she launched her own brand in 2015, she knew it had to be sustainable. 

Gold is a focus in her work, for its durability which made it ideal for creating meaningful jewelry in times gone by.

Baylee Ann Zwart has developed a look that blends past with the present, drawing from the Ancient World and European Art Deco to design pieces that are handmade by local master craftsmen.

Inspired by her love of pop culture, art and design, she creates playful, modern pieces that provide a fresh take on jewelry, revisiting classic floral motifs and reinventing the beaded necklace for a new generation. Her signature vine rings twist around the fingers in vibrant color, finished with a colored gemstone, and have become emblematic of a dynamic new look that makes no compromises on craftsmanship.

Sophie Karg's jewelry brand was born of a desire to elevate raw materials from the natural world and disillusionment with the fast pace of the fashion industry. 

Straddling the fine and demi-fine jewelry spaces, By Pariah pieces are seasonless, made from polished precious and semi-precious gemstones in a neutral palette, as well as solid 9kt and 14kt gold and vermeil.

The fourth generation of a family of jewelers, her Florentine-finish gold and hand-woven silk and gemstone charm bracelets draw on centuries-old Italian craftsmanship to create a boho luxe vibe. 

Her signature Forte gemstone beads were born of a family tradition of making brightly colored beaded bracelets on the beach each summer, and her sunny aesthetic perfectly captures the spirit of the season.

Today, nothing makes me more honored than seeing the trust and support our clientele has shown us since opening – whether it’s from a mother looking for her daughter’s graduation gift, a husband searching for his wife’s “push” present, or a woman simply treating herself to some jewelry because she’s earned it.

I’ve always had a passion for jewelry. At a young age, I would handcraft my own pieces and scour local markets for unique finds. So after graduating as an Industrial Engineer, I decided to pursue a business in a field that I loved.

Aubade was started to bring jewels by all of my favorite international designers to the Middle East. When Duha AlRamadhan couldn't find her favorite independent jewelry brands in Kuwait, she decided to turn her eye for style and passion for jewelry into a business. She founded Aubade in 2013, and in the intervening years the original store in Kuwait City has become a destination for design-led contemporary jewelry, for clients from around the region.

Run by an all-female team, the brand now showcases a thoughtful curation of independent and emerging jewelry designers, and has established itself as a trusted purveyor of hand-picked fine jewelry from around the world. With jewels crafted in studios and workshops from the US to India, via France and Italy, the designers on the books represent the vanguard of the contemporary jewelry scene.

At the heart of the Aubade approach, is openness. It's about getting to know clients, nurturing relationships with newly discovered designers, and connecting the dots to introduce beautiful pieces to their new owners. Because finding the right jewel represents the start of something meaningful. In other words, it's a new dawn.
